"The steel ball is OK, but unfortunately it is not particularly spherical. There is a significant bulge at the equator, where the two halves have been joined, and one or two low spots elsewhere. This probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, but the application I am putting it to relies on it being close to a perfect sphere."
